RankTree ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy and personal data. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, store, process, and protect your information when you interact with the RankTree website and application, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

• Account Credentials: Name, email address, and authentication tokens provided during registration (managed securely via Clerk authentication).
• Project Data: Keyword files, CSV uploads, project names, and generated content maps uploaded to your workspace.
• Payment Details: Billing address, subscription tier, and transaction metadata. Payment card processing is handled directly by Stripe and PayPal; RankTree never stores your full credit card details.
• Technical & Usage Logs: IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, pages visited, and timestamped interaction metrics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We process collected data for the following lawful business purposes:

• To provision, maintain, and improve the RankTree SEO software platform.
• To process keyword datasets and generate AI topical maps, clusters, and content briefs.
• To process billing transactions, renewals, and invoice generation.
• To provide responsive customer support and technical troubleshooting.
• To prevent fraudulent activity, security breaches, and platform abuse.

3. AI Processing & Third-Party Providers

To generate semantic clusters and topical maps, keyword inputs are processed through secure API connections with certified language model providers (such as OpenAI and Anthropic). Your uploaded keyword data is used strictly for generating your requested outputs and is never used to train third-party foundation models.

4. Data Storage, Security & Retention

All data transmitted to and from RankTree is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 cryptography and encrypted at rest using AES-256. We retain your project data for as long as your account remains active. You can delete individual projects at any time, which permanently removes associated data from our operational databases within 30 days.

5. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you possess the right to:

• Access & Export: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request rectification of inaccurate personal details.
• Erasure: Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Opt-Out: Withdraw consent for non-essential analytics cookies or marketing communications.
